This a new blog for me to add my daily photos or images. Not really related to work, more for fun and personal story telling. My iPhone and MacBook will be my main tools.

Mirka at Aspendale
Today we were talking about art, books, artists and Aspendale Beach. This made me think of this great photo that was taken of Mirka Mora at Aspendale Beach in the 1960s.
I saw it at the Heide Museum of Modern Art just last week.

Herb Garden
Adding herbs to our garden!
This laundry trough has been around since I bought the house in the early 1990s. It has been moved from around the side of the house to the backyard during the renovation period. Only now, have we made use of it! It will be our new herb garden filled with basil, oregano, mint, coriander, rosemary, tarragon and cherry tomatoes.
We have another laundry trough still around the side of the house which will be moved once we know how to! They are heavy and awkward so we need to be careful not to do an injury!! It too, will then be parked beside our gazebo to make up another herb garden.

Books and Movies
A latte and browse at Borders...
then off to see Desert Flower.
then off to see Desert Flower.
I read Desert Flower some time ago, maybe 10 years ago now. It made quite an impression on me back then. Such a sad yet courageous life. Amazing. The movie was filmed beautifully, especially the scenes in Africa. I enjoyed watching the story on the big screen, and again it has left me thinking and wondering about the horrible plight of these women and young girls.

Light relief...
To take my mind off my day at sleep dentistry, we borrowed something light to watch. It was a good distraction as my appointment was to be at 12 noon, then got changed to 1pm and then again to 2pm due to complications with the previous surgery (implants for that guy).
Mine was a fairly 'simple routine' as I was told, root canal and fillings and gum treatment. Unfortunately the root canal became an extraction due to the severity of the crack it had and probably explains the extreme pain I had just before Christmas.
Next installment = possible implant and definitely braces!
As for the movie - well worth the silliness to take my mind off waiting.
(Note - this post was actually made on the 9th but dated for the 8th due to being asleep most of the day!)

Afternoon on the Yarra
then off to Finns Reserve, close to where I grew up.
This was a great way to spend a day of my holidays. I was able to share the experience with my husband and show him the places we used to go as teenagers growing up.
Finns Reserve was close to home and the Yarra River provided much entertainment when we were school kids. It's a really lovely, quiet spot and we were able to enjoy just sitting on the banks watching the river flow by and the rabbits hop through the bushes.
A great afternoon on the Yarra.
